Why Do You Believe The Things That You Believe?

With very few exceptions, all individuals have things which they believe, or believe in.   Unfortunately, many have never asked the question, " Why do I believe...? "   I recently heard the statement, and I'm not sure who came up with it originally, " ALL BELIEF HAS A SOURCE. "   And, indeed it does.   All belief has a source.

Do you believe that God created everything?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the one true church?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that the earth is billions of years old?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that the earth is only about 6,000 years old?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that life arose on earth thru evolution?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that Allah is the one true God?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that Peter was the first Pope?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that the Bible is just another book?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that the Bible is God's instruction book for mankind?   Why do you believe that?

How can a person determine whether or not they are going to heaven?   Why do you believe that?

Do you believe that one religion is as good as another?   Why do you believe that?

Are the Ten Commandments still valid today?   Why do you believe that?

Why do you believe the things that you believe?

That's what someone in your family taught you?   What if they were/are wrong?

That's what your teachers/professors taught you?   What if they were/are wrong?

That's what your friend/s told you?   What if they were/are wrong?

That's what your priest or minister or rabbi or other spiritual leader
said?   What if he/she is wrong?

That's what they said on TV?   What if they were/are wrong?

I get letters frequently from people who have visited this site.   Some are in basic agreement with our views.   Some are not.   But one thing is
obvious.   Most people choose to believe things, simply because that's what they heard from some source, and they never have bothered to take the time to seek out the truth.   If there is a God, and if there is a heaven and hell, this is reckless ignorance.

Come back again.   This is just the beginning!
