Deuteronomy 28:15What follows this verse in Deuteronomy, is a listing of dozens of judgements, which are explained below.
We take no pleasure in this message. We have the same dull emptiness,- the same sadness, that the rest of the caring people in America have. We have lost seven fine, intellegent human beings.
However, we do not share the world's confusion over this tragedy. Anyone who knows their Bible, knows what is happening. God is beginning to judge America for its unfaithfulness.
I'm sure there will be the usual ignorant wailing, " If there were a good God, He wouldn't let things like this happen. " I've got news for you. It is precisely because there is a good God, doing just what He said He would do, that these things are happening.
Everyone should take a few minutes and read the 28th chapter of the book of Deuteronomy,- in the Old Testament part of the Bible. This message was given to the children of Israel in approximately 1500 BC, before they entered the general area of the modern state of Israel. In 3500 years, little has changed.
To the extent that America was founded as a christian nation ( and to a great degree it was ) we are descendants of ancient Israel. In their eagerness to blame the Jews for the crucifixion of Christ, most christians today, in America, have lost sight of the fact that Christianity is a branch of Judaism,- a logical extension of ancient Israel. If you worship God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, you are a worshipper of the Jewish Messiah and the Jewish God. Christians are not in agreement with the other branches of Judaism such as the orthodox, conservative, and reformed, in their precise views of the nature of God, but neither are these Jewish branches in agreement with each other.
Because of the blasphemies against God, teaching evolution instead of creation, teaching the " millions of years " lie, approving immorality of all kinds, and calling it " diversity ", replacing God's laws with man's laws, etc.,- with the full support of the United States government, God is beginning to judge America. This is just the beginning. If America doesn't repent, it is going to get much worse. In the past, God has many times used evil rulers,- rulers similar to Saddam Hussein, to discipline His people, when they went astray. Make no mistake about it. He will do it again.
Lets review some of the things that are given on other pages of this website. If you look at any number of processes that take place around us,- everything from erosion to radioactive decay, and assume that everything has always occurred at the same rate, and in the same way, it is occurring today, with no outside influence, you will come up with millions or billions of years. However, God tells us in His book,- the Bible, that this is not what has happened. There was a massive flood that covered the world about 4400 years ago, accompanied by, and followed, by major earth changes. These things can easily account for the geologic features, which we see around us, and the fossils which are found. We have a historical record about God, and about the history of the earth. Evil men, posing as scientists, have been using their theories to try to change the historical record, and unfortunately, in the minds of many, they have been successful. Their students have been blinded by their supposed intelligence and intellectual prowess. And, many of these students have gone on to become false teachers, themselves.
When you put sediment into water and make it a slurry, it can cause rates of erosion more than a thousand times faster than pure running water. Many of the things that the phony scientists of today think took place over millions of years, took place in months or a few years at the most. This is the same principle as what happens in a rock tumbler. If you put in plain water, very little happens, but if you put in a slurry,- a grinding compound, the rocks are ground and polished in a matter of a few days.
Have you ever seen " beach glass "? Did it take millions of years to grind down the beach glass? Of course not. The beach glass that we find today is at the most a couple hundred years old, and probably much more recent than that.
What will happen next? It's up to us, and to the world. If we continue on, in the direction we are going,- the AIDS epidemic, Ebola, the twin tower attack, the Challenger tragedy, the Columbia tragedy,- these are just the beginning. God disciplines in stages. He starts with small judgements. If they don't bring about a change, He brings greater and greater judgements. God is holy. He will not allow His people to become more and more evil. He stands ready to heal our land and forgive our sin,- but only if we repent.
There is little hope for a nation that clings to sin and sinful lifestyles. If we repent of our sins, Christ will give us happy and meaningful lives. We don't have to go on living the miserable existance that we call life. When we pray to God asking for a new heart,- a new inner person that doesn't desire to sin, He grants that prayer, and gives us a life that is worth living. Christ died to give us that kind of life.
