Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, " Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; "
" for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD "
" Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing,- Him I proclaim to you... "
" for in Him, we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ' For we are also His offspring. ' "
( Acts 17:22-23,28 )" Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, "
" because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead. "
( Acts 17:30-31 )Democracy isn't an American institution. It wasn't invented by our founding fathers. In fact, it had already been a failure for at least 300 years, when Paul the apostle visited Athens in the first century AD. Our founding fathers were well aware of the problems with a democracy, when they drafted the U.S. Constitution. They specifically founded not a democracy,- but a constitutional republic.
" One man one vote " was the cry of the sleazy politicians in 1965, because they knew that allowing poorly educated people to vote would make it easier for them to use false promises, and emotion provoking slogans, to get themselves and their allies, elected and re-elected, to high office. And, you know what? It worked!
A democracy can only be successful if the people are totally moral and well informed. In a truly christian society, it is possible, at least in theory, for democracy to work. When you have an amoral people, living in a society where they have been brainwashed from the cradle to the grave, by an amoral educational establishment, and an amoral news media, a democracy will soon lead to a weak and ineffective government. Thus it is no surprise, to those of us who have searched beyond the brainwashing that our government schools and colleges gave us, to find that America is becoming closer to chaos daily.
We are told regularly, that we are well informed and well educated. If you believe that one, maybe you'd be interested in a bridge that I'd be willing to let you have for only a few million. They tell us that our educational system is fine. It just needs a lot more money to make it work! That's a better one than the first. That's what one of the educational union leaders tells us daily,- in ads on a local radio station. Our public schools are safe? Maybe they're a little safer than a Palestinian headquarters in the Gaza strip, but that's about it. If you think your kids are safe in school, you must watch the sitcoms, and drink yourself to sleep every night. Even the misleading news media can't hide the guns in schools, the shootings, the beatings, the stabbings, etc. etc. If you really love your kids, get them out!
You think you aren't qualified to home school your kids? That's just what the educational establishment wants you to think. High school dropouts are giving their children a far better and safer education at home than the " qualified, certified " experts in the government schools. How is this possible? There are dozens of excellent home school providers, who will sell you a program for a tenth of the cost of a public school education. Is it legal? Yes it is. It is legal in every one of the 50 states.
I have heard more whining, and seen more tears from christian parents, who had this excuse, or that excuse, for sending their kids to an atheistic government school, where their kids would be introduced to a culture of depression, smoking, drinking, drugs, and suicide. And then they moan, " How could God let this happen? " Give me a break.
Have you heard the latest? We have a problem with depression,- especially with our teen agers. Turn off the sitcom, and look around you for a few days. If you aren't depressed, then there's really something wrong with you! And no, anti-depressant drugs aren't the answer. The answer is the same as it has always been. Dust off your Bible. Open it up and read it. The problems in our society aren't new. They are as old as recorded history. There have always been those who have tried to lead people down the path to hell, and they have always made themselves sound so good.
The apostle Paul had it so right, when he wrote, " Professing to be wise, they became fools. " Are you about to send your son or daughter to these people for four years,- and spend 100 grand to boot? Then don't come whining to me, when you find that they have abandoned their faith.
Wake up! Take a good look around you. Do you want your kids to end up like the rest,- confused, poorly educated, depressed, smoking, drinking, on drugs, or dead? They are in your hands. The problems we face today aren't new, and the answer is not new. God created you, and your kids, and everything around you. In His book, the Bible, He tells us all we need to know about how we got here, what life is all about, and how we should live this life to get the most out of it. He also tells us what will happen to us in this life, and in the life to come, if we don't. I pray that you will make the right decisions.
