The Gospel according to Matthew? The Gospel according to Mark?
The Gospel according to Luke? The Gospel according to John?
The Gospel of the kingdom of God? The Gospel of Jesus Christ?
The Gospel of God? The Gospel of the Apostle Paul?

Those that read their Bibles know that there are many Gospels in scripture. A few preachers quote the first few verses of I Corinthians chapter 15 as if this was the whole Gospel. Certainly, the fact that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, is at the center of all the Gospels, however, there are many important Gospels, including some preached by Christ, Himself.
The Apostle Paul told Agrippa ( Acts 26:19,20 ) " I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. "
In order to cover all the uses of the word, Gospel, we must use a word like truth, story, or account. The often used term, "Good News" covers some of the uses of the word Gospel, but not all of them.
The Gospel of God transcends the Old and New Testament. It can be summed up in a few statements similar to the ten commandments in
Exodus 20.1. God created the heavens and the earth in six days.
2. We should worship and honor our Creator, and Him only.
3. We should love God, and treat our fellow human beings as we would like to be treated.
4. We should repent of our sins, truly desiring to live a life pleasing to God, and asking Him to give us a new heart,- one that does not desire to sin. Jesus said that we should preach repentance, and remission of sins, in His name. ( Luke 24:46-47 )
5. We need to recognize that no human being could ever be saved, if Jesus Christ hadn't paid the penalty for our sins on the cross of Calvary.
6. And, by the way, Christ did not die on the cross so that we could live as sinners. When people are truly converted, they will cease to practice sin! ( See I Corinthians 6:9-11 )
