In Jeremiah chapter 18, beginning at verse 7, we find that the Lord said,
"The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it."
Also in I Samuel 12:14-15,
"If you fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then both you and the king who reigns over you, will continue following the Lord your God. However, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers."
Our nation was founded as a constitutional republic. Now it is essentially a democracy. We have been taught that democracy is the best form of government. As our forefathers noted, government by the people only works when the people are a Godly people and a properly educated people. The weakness in a democracy, and even in a republic, is that the people can be lead astray by clever teachers. It is so simple. To destroy a democratic nation, all you have to do is get control of the positions that influence the thinking of the people,- the educators, the media, and yes, the clergy.
If you were born in the early 40's, or before, you have seen it happening, unless you were so occupied with pleasure, comforts, or just plain surviving, that you didn't notice. Vote for the candidate that promises you the most. " Tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect." The people are too ------ dumb to understand. One of our former presidents said that.
Our responsibility is the same, whether we live in a monarchy, a dictatorship, a democracy, or a republic. America is just one of many nations, whose people thought they could ignore God's commandments. The other nations have been destroyed, or are in the process of being destroyed. If Americans don't repent soon, the judgment that the Lord promised through Jeremiah and Samuel will soon be upon us.
The scoffers will soon be in hell. Please, don't be among them!
