( Romans 10:3 )You aren't in favor of hate crimes, are you? Of course not! Neither are
we. That's why this catch phrase was chosen. That's why many of the catch phrases, which are so popular today, were chosen. This particular catch phrase is even more dangerous than the others, because it seeks to control our thoughts.Supposedly if your crime against someone, or something, was motivated by a hateful thought, it is more serious than another crime. But, aren't all true crimes motivated by hate? I have always abhored the KKK, Nazis, Communists, Muslim extremists, and any other group that would attack the values, and freedoms, which we hold precious, and I hope that you abhor them also, however, it is important that we defend their right to think despicable thoughts, and hold despicable views, because there are those, who may think that our thoughts and views are despicable. That's what the Bill of Rights in the U.S. constitution is all about.
It is frightening that so many of our legislators, at the state and federal level, don't understand that people of different ethnicities, different religions, and different lifestyles hold very different opinions concerning right and wrong, and that these opinions are not rooted in hate or prejudice. Devout christians are fiercly opposed to abortion and homosexuality, since God calls these things wrong and abominable. This is not hate. It wasn't too many years ago that God's laws were reflected in our laws, and God's commands concerning right and wrong were respected and incorporated into our civil laws.
It is through the deception of catch words or phrases, and alternate labels, that our secular laws have departed from God's law. Murder of an infant, or an infant not yet born, is now called abortion or choice. Pretty clever, isn't it? You aren't opposed to choice, are you? Homosexuality is called an alternative lifestyle. You are open minded, aren't you? You are open to alternate lifestyles, aren't you? Did you know that there is even a law that says you aren't supposed to touch a person without their permission? It's called simple assault,- " unpriviledged physical contact ". Watch out, you people in loving church groups.
Do you wonder why John Ashcroft got so much opposition in his quest to become Attorney General of the United States. Those, who are pedalling these deceptive catch words and phrases, knew that they couldn't fool John Ashcroft.
There is always a bottom line. The bottom line here is, " Are you going to let yourself be deceived by slogans and catch words, that try to circumvent God's commands? " I hope not. There is a struggle going on today concerning whose righteousness we are going to accept. Do you accept God's righteousness, or are you seeking to establish your own righteousness?
Beware! God is not a democrat ( He isn't a republican either ). He is not moved by majority opinions. He created us and He sets the rules. For those who object, there is the Great White Throne!
