" You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. "

In Proverbs, we find, " A righteous man regards the life of his animal. "
In Genesis, we find, " Then God said, ' Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness: Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. '"
Today, we hear much about things such as " endangered species " and " animal rights ". These, and many other modern terms, are expressing a morality which is contrary to God's commandments. Frequently, these terms are leading to forms of idolatry and animal worship. It is not surprising that this is happening in a nation whose leaders have deprived its children of God for about 40 years. Our society is obsessed with saving everything but human beings!
Save the whales! Save the dolphins. Save the baby seals. Save the wolves. Now we hear," Save the sharks! Save a particular species of fly! Save a worm! Even save an endangered bacteria! " Multi million dollar developments, which would have been of tremendous value to humans, have been blocked, because of some species that is supposedly " endangered ". Beaches have been closed to protect piping plovers, etc. Yet, those who want to save unborn babies from being murdered by their mothers, are dismissed as extremists and outlaws.
One thing, this is saying, is that this adulterous, and wicked, generation of ours really knows that evolution is a fraud. If evolution were true, we wouldn't have to worry about endangered species, because the species would just re-evolve again.
God's commandments regarding animals fall into two categories. First we have pets and farm animals. Those are to be regarded and respected. When it is necessary to slaugter farm animals for food, it should be done in the most painless manner. If a pet reaches an age, or physical condition, where the most merciful thing is to put them under, it should be done as quickly and painlessly as possible. Having said this, I abhor the financial greed of those veterinarians, who lobby for laws, that require people to allow them to be the ones to dispose of the pets at outrageous prices.
With regard to " wild " animals, God has given us dominion over them. God has frequently given wicked societies over to wild animals. It is our God given duty to protect our families and domestic animals from wild animals. It is insanity to " protect " these animals, which more and more frequently, are killing, or maiming, human beings and farm animals. To re-introduce predators into our surroundings is insane, and immoral. How many children have to be maimed or killed before these misinformed people wake up?
Make no mistake about it. The root cause of this insanity is ungodliness, and idolatry. Much of this is a form of animal worship. When one adores an animal, or object, attributing a kind of humanity, or awe, to it,- this is idolatry! God has not only forbidden it, but promised judgement upon the third and fourth generations of those who participate in it. Pagan societies, including some of the American Indians, have worshipped animals, to their detriment. I say this, even though some of my own ancestors were American Indians. Mother earth? This is another form of idolatry. The earth is not your mother! Mother Nature? No, God is your Creator and heavenly Father, even though you may choose not to honor Him as such.
The time is at hand. Repent from idolatry and animal worship! Repent from your sinful life style! You know what I mean. Repent from greed, and the misuse of our legal system! Turn to God. Jesus died for you,- so that you might be given a new heart, and be cleansed of your sins. God's way of life is the only sensible way to live. Even if the Bible were not true, I would want to live according to His commandments. Obedience to God's commandments leads to health and happiness.
