" And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, and when you rise up. " ( Deuteronomy 6:6-7 )
It would be hard for our public school system to be worse than it is. We are constantly bombarded with the cries for more money, more teachers, education reform, and countless slogans and catch words. The public schools need more and more and more. " If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. " etc. etc.
The truth is that after spending trillions of dollars on education, WE HAVE IGNORANCE! We have miseducated people transfering their misinformation to others who are transfering it to others, etc. I frequently encounter high school, or college students, who think they are so smart,- when in fact, all they have done, is learn false information from others, who were also given false information, etc., etc. This is not to say that our teachers aren't trying. There are many hard working teachers doing the best they can,- trying to teach what they have been taught, not realizing that they haven't been educated at all, and that they really aren't educating. They are simply brainwashing,- as they themselves have been brainwashed!
We can say the same about the college professors, the psychologists, the doctors, the lawyers, the government officials, the educational boards etc. They have been so miseducated that they don't even know right from wrong. Yes, they may have gained some specific knowledge in math, reading, writing, and in their own disciplines, but even this is tainted with the misinformation that was passed on to them by their mentors.
How did this happen? Well, it all started with the first public school in America, in the Plymouth Bay Colony, over 300 years ago. The expressed purpose of establishing this school was to teach the children to read, at least to the point that they could understand the scriptures. That sounds noble enough,- except that God did not command us to send our children to school, so that they could read the scriptures. He commanded us to teach them, not to give them over to someone else! As the apostle Paul said," Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? When you disobey God in what seems to be a little thing, before long you have a monster on your hands!
As a retired public school teacher, and a home school dad, I hear all the false ideas about home schooling:
" Oh, I'd never be able to do that! " Really? I know high school dropouts that are home schooling very successfully, learning as they go along. How can they be successful? Because God honors their obedience and helps them.
" I went to public schools and I turned out all right! " Really? If you turned out all right, you'd know that our public schools today are anti-God and anti-Christian. Also, the public schools, with prayer, in the pre 1960 period were far different,- and less corrupted, than they are today. When Godless supreme court justices tossed God out of the public schools in 1962, they reaped a pandoras box full of social problems,- teen age pregnancies, homelessness, crime, rape, murder,- even mothers presenting their babies to be murdered. Today wrong is right,- as long as you don't get caught! What kind of education is this?
" You are depriving your children of socialization skills. " Really? Honest people would say," You are not allowing your children to be corrupted by the godless animals that we have created." " You are not allowing your children to be brainwashed in anti-God, anti-Christian philosophy like the rest." Christians are commanded to be separate. This does not mean isolation. This means choosing their playmates and friends carefully, until they are old enough, and wise enough, to make these choices for themselves. Home schooling means having children who love their family, rather than deserting their family for " friends " who will lead them into cigarettes, booze, drugs, illicit sex, and other addictions.
Here we are. Three weeks have passed since our presidential election, yet we still don't know who our president will be. Who's at fault? You guessed it, the American public school system. Neither candidate is an example of a man wholly and totally commited to God. However, one candidate has whole-heartedly endorsed home schooling, educational choice, and other positive alternatives to the government sponsored anti-God, anti-Christian public school sytem. The other candidate is obviously a pitiful slave of that system, a crony of the educational unions and the educational establishment. If the voters of our nation were truly educated, the election wouldn't have been close!
Here's the bottom line. As the Bible says, " What you sow, you will reap. " If you continue to seek sexual and material pleasure without responsibility: If you continue to look to the government and man's law, instead of God and His law, you will have more sadness, more sickness, more hunger, more homeless men, more neglected and abused children, more single moms, more broken families, and in one word, more MISERY! God says, "Repent". It's up to you!
