Who Is Right? & Who Is Wrong?

" The world ... hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil. "
( John 7:7 )

" This is my commandment, that you love one another as
I have loved you. "  also

" If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. "
( John 15:12,18 )

Those of us who worship God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, think of Jesus as a human being who never did anything wrong.   And, indeed, that is true.   We forget that, in the eyes of the world, He was a convicted criminal, worthy of death.   Why do we have two views that are so different?   Because God is God.   He has every right to declare what is right, and what is wrong.   Human beings either accept God's statements concerning right and wrong, or go about in rebellion,- declaring their own versions of right and wrong.   What they are saying is that they are more righteous than God!

" For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. "
( Romans 10:3 )

We had quite a lesson in right and wrong this last week.   When it was learned that the nominee for the cabinet position of Secretary of Labor had given food, shelter, and a little money to an illegal immigrant, she was intimidated by politicians and the media into withdrawing her name from consideration.   She did precisely what God's law commands, yet she was found by the world to be unworthy of the cabinet position.   I have no idea whether this lady is a professing christian, or not.   But, we are told, " By their fruits you shall know them. "   Her fruit ( conduct ) appears excellent!

We have another test of right and wrong coming up this next week.   The nominee for Attorney General is coming under fire for the statement, " ( Americans ) have no king but Jesus. "   This statement came in May of 1999 as part of a commencement address delived at a christian university.   This was obviously in a church type setting, not in a public forum   What is he supposed to say,- that we have no king but Bill?

The people who supposedly favor " separation of church and state " are horrified at this remark.   First of all, let's be honest.   These people, who claim to favor separation of church and state, don't favor separation of church and state at all.   What they really want is to separate America from its christian heritage.   What they really want, is a country that is separate from God.   I PRAY THAT MILLIONS OF AMERICAN CHRISTIANS, OF BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES, WRITE, CALL, OR E-MAIL THEIR SENATORS, REQUESTING THAT JOHN ASHCROFT BE CONFIRMED AS ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES.

Romans, chapter 1, in the Holy Bible, has a section that especially tells it like it is. ( Romans 1:18-31 )   Those that want to make up their own versions of right and wrong ( their own laws ) don't like these verses, but the bottom line is this.   Heed the warnings in these verses, or be prepared to face a terrifying judgement, before Almighty God, at the Great White Throne.
