" He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first. "
( John 8:7 )" For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. "
" But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. "
( Matthew 6:14-15 )" For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. "
( Romans 3:23 )" For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. "
( James 2:10 )What the world needs now, more than ever, is forgiveness. We are all victims, and we are all offenders of one kind or another. The Word of God is very plain on this subject. Everyone on this earth is an offender, worthy of hell. That includes not only the recent group of perpetrators in the clergy, but the victims, and their lawyers, and the psychiatrists, and the members of the media, and the courts, and all those who are profiting so handsomely from the grief of others.
Now even church leaders are being swept along with the mob justice. Doesn't anyone understand what christianity is all about? If the accusers of this world understood the judgement that awaits them, because of their lack of forgiveness, they would quickly repent of their torrent of accusations and villification.
Did some of these old men commit serious offenses? It certainly seems that they did,- but are we and our children going to be better off for putting more and more of these old people into jail, in many cases for offenses committed 30 or 40 years ago? Will we be better off for building more jails, and pouring more and more of our tax dollars into the pockets of lawyers and psychiatrists and government officials?
How can we make our world better? First, it appears that forced celibacy is a failure. The Roman church will reform in this regard, and allow,- and even encourage its leaders to marry, or suffer such losses in money and membership, that it will lose all but a trace of its influence. Other religions have married leaders. In light of today's scandal, it would be hard to argue that forbidding their leaders to marry has brought about a better religion. Their leaders are supposedly successors of Peter. Peter was married, and took along his wife on his missionary journeys. Are they better than Peter?
Second, it appears that in today's society, allowing unsupervised contact with unrelated minors, especially in private quarters, is risky for any church or organization. With sex being pedalled constantly from every form of media, it is better to avoid any kind of temptation, or to invite false accusation.
The answer is the same as it has always been. The prophets preached it. John the Baptist preached it. Jesus Christ preached it. The answer is to repent of sin and turn to God. Let Him change our hearts and guide us to live lives according to God's commandments. The answer is to turn away from fornication, adultery, homosexuality, idolatry, and all other sins.
By the way, the worst sin is not child sexual abuse, it is idolatry,- the sin that is the most prevalent in our society today.
The ignorant scoffers of the world won't like this web page. They don't like to be reminded of the fiery torment in hell that awaits them. Recently one of them even e-mailed me and tried to tell me that Jesus Christ never existed. I replied by reminding him ( It could have been a her. ) that this was the year 2002. 2002 what? He was so blind and ignorant that even that didn't convince him!
Our educational system is so bad that we should be demanding our money back! An education that neglects God and spiritual things is next to useless. Read your Bible straight through a few times, and you'll begin to see how poor your education really was. They didn't even teach you right from wrong!
Have a wonderful spring season. God Bless you, and your family!
